Senate President Saraki
The All Progressives Congress has taunted Senate President Bukola Saraki over his dismal run for the presidency of Nigeria at the Port Harcourt convention of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Saraki was a member of the ruling APC, until 31 July, when he switched allegiance to his old party, the PDP to run for the presidency.
The APC spokesman, Yekini Nabena in a statement on Tuesday described Saraki “A Rolling Stone That Gathers No Moss” and asked him to vacate the senate presidency honourably.
“He should be a distinguished Senator in name and in deed. He cannot continue to preside over the APC-dominated Senate as a member of the minority PDP.
"The disappointing performance of Sen. Bukola Saraki at the Presidential Election Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a befitting end to the ambition of a greedy, untrustworthy and double-dealing politician, Nabena said.
Reacting, Saraki responded to the taunt by the APC over his performance at the just concluded Presidential Primary of the PDP
In a statement Issues by Yusuph Olaniyonu, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the President of the Senate, Saraki said that the APC is always disturbed by the sound of his name.
Saraki, however, advised the APC and its leadership to stop focusing on developments in the opposition party and seek ways to solve the “civil war” that had been ignited in the party.
