President Buhari
If all the people that registered as APC members went out and voted yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari would go home with no fewer than 16m votes.
The APC held its presidential primary election yesterday with Buhari as the sole candidate.
The party had adopted ‘Direct Primary’ option, meaning all card-carrying members of the party were expected to participate.
Direct primaries meant APC members joined long queues in over 8000 wards across the 776 local government areas in 36 states of the federation and the FCT to ‘elect’ President Muhammadu Buhari as their sole candidate for next year’s election.
The National Chairman of the party, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, had on Wednesday, September 12 while presenting membership card to Buhari, said the APC under his leadership took advantage of modern technology to come up with a new membership database of 15.6 million members.
But reports from some states indicated that the election did not take place in some places.
Oshiomhole had four days ago distributed membership registers to all APC state chairmen ahead of the primaries.
