Voting in the Osun State governorship supplementary election has ended.
Sorting and counting of votes is now in progress in Osun State following the conclusion of voting in the supplementary governorship election.
The election started by 8:00 a.m. as scheduled despite an early morning downpour and ended at about 2:00 p.m.
Voting took in seven polling units with a possible 3,498 votes up for grabs.
The rerun is between Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeleke won last Saturday’s ballot but the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the process inconclusive due to the slim margin of victory by Adeleke, who won with 353 votes after polling 254,698 votes, as against the 254,345 votes garnered by Oyetola.
