A former National Chairman of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC), Engr. Buba Galadima, says the lopsided state of the nation’s economy, insecurity in parts of the country and insincerity on the part of the ruling APC, are indications that, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is on its way to wresting power from the ruling party.

Alhaji Buba Galadima, who is a member of the PDP Gubernatorial screening committee for the South-South, noted that, with the focused, detribalised, purposeful leadership and disposition of Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State and other PDP Governors across the country, the party proved its readiness to return the country to its glorious past.

According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Relations, Mr Fidelis Soriwei, quoted Alhaji Buba, who stood in for the Chairman of the South-South PDP Gubernatorial Screening Committee, Dr Muraina Ajibola, as saying that, they were in the Governor’s country home, Toru Orua in Bayelsa State to condole him over demise of his mother, Mrs. Goldcoast Dickson.

Describing the passing of the Ma Goldcoast Dickson as painful and irreparable, he noted that, she died a fulfilled woman, having brought forth a worthy son and a reputable leader in the person of Governor Dickson and seeing him attain the enviable position of a Governor of a State like Bayelsa and delivering the dividends of democracy, like never been seen in the history of the state.

According to him, as individuals and as members of the PDP South-South Gubernatorial Screening Committee, they are proud of his current achievements as Governor and his efforts at bringing peace, understanding and unity to the PDP family.

Engr Galadima pointed out that, Governor Dickson has made tremendous impact on the lives of so many Nigerians, noting that, his ability to speak out freely, regardless of the situation and who is involved are qualities that are greatly admired by PDP faithful across the country.

His words: “He is one person in the party we regard as a reliable pillar. A reliable pillar that we never had any doubt in his ability to speak his mind and make things happen and with the support of people like him in the PDP, we are more than confident.

“And we urge all Nigerians to be more than confident that it is possible that this government must and should be removed come May 2019.

“Therefore, in this dark hours of sadness of our mother. All well-meaning Nigerians, including our party men felt the pain and that is why everybody is trooping in to commiserate with you over the death of our mother.”

In his response, Governor Dickson, expressed gratitude to Engr. Galadima for creating time to honour the memory of his mother, who was lost at an early age to cancer.

He commended Engr. Galadima for his years of committed and selfless service to the country, stressing that, there has been a long lasting bond of positive relationship and collaboration between the south and the North, which has been mutually beneficial to the both and for which he has played a very significant role.

He emphasised the need for leaders of the two regions to work towards strengthening the existing alliance towards ensuring a stable Nigeria for the benefit of the people.
