The Inspector general of the Nigerian Police Force, Ibrahim Idris, has unveiled the security arrangement for the 22 September governorship election in Osun, deploying not only adequate personnel, but also 300 patrol vehicles, 30 Armoured Personnel Carriers and two surveillance helicopters.

A curfew will also begin midnight on Friday 21 September, until the end of the election, according to a statement by Acting `Deputy Commissioner of police, Jimoh Moshood.

The whole arrangement will be coordinated by the Deputy Inspector-general of Operations, who will be assisted and Assitant Inspector-General of Police eight commissioners.

Ahead of them, operatives of the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCIID), IGP Monitoring Unit are already on ground to prevent and arrest anyone involved in vote buying.

According to Moshood, Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector-General of Police has directed that a robust and elaborate security arrangement be implemented to ensure secured environment for a peaceful and credible election. (NAN)
