 Ilorin agog as mammoth crowd endorses Saraki for President

The Mass Rally in support of Dr Bukola Saraki as Nigeria’s next president convened by The Olanrewaju Oba Youth Forum (TOOYF) was held on Saturday in Ilorin, Kwara State, attracting a massive crowd.

A popular musician, Slimcase, was also at the event to entertain the crowd of supporters and fans while groups of singers and dancers cheered the expectant crowd to set up a lively atmosphere.

The convener of the event, Honourable Abdulmajeed Olanrewaju Oba, said the essence of the rally was to galvanise support for Senate President, Bukola Saraki on his presidential aspiration.

He stated that Saraki deserved the unflinching support of the people of Kwara for his exemplary leadership qualities and contributions to the state and the country.

Speaking on the mass rally, Slimcase lauded the initiative, stating that it is a good platform to bring Kwarans together and portray the unity in the State to the generality of Nigerians.

The rally truly lived up to its billing as an array of excited people marched with Hon. Olanrewaju Oba to the Emir’s Palace in the scorching sun, all along singing Saraki’s praises.

Olanrewaju Oba and his entourage were also at the Emir of Ilorin’s Palace, where they conveyed their message of endorsement of Saraki for President in 2019.

The delegation was also received at Government House Ilorin by Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed who commended the youths for endorsing the candidacy of Senate President, Bukola Saraki for President at the forthcoming elections.

Other dignitaries that received the delegation at the Government House included the Secretary to State Government, Isiaka Gold, Special Advisers to the governor on Political affairs Toyin Olokoba and Hassan Gegele, Special Adviser to the governor on Students Affairs, Lamidi Akambi and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Muyideen Akorede.

Afterwards, Hon. Olanrewaju Oba who addressed the crowd for showing solidarity to Saraki also declared his ambition to contest for membership of the House of Representatives in the 2019 general elections, to represent Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency.

He said he has a blueprint to address women empowerment, youth employment, free education and skill acquisition among others, which he plans to implement if elected into office.

There were massive display of flags, banners, posters, branded t-shirts in support of Saraki for President and Olanrewaju Oba for House of Rep.
