Dr Fatai Aliu

A renowned researcher has identified the pursuit of revenge as a tragedy that has undermined Nigeria’s development.

Dr. Fatai Aliu made this known during the launch of his book titled, “Political trepidation” at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Council in Benin City.

Fatai, who is also the Managing Director of Fatai Super System Limited and Ambrose Alli University in Edo State, recalled the tortuous journey of how Nigeria had evolved since military era to the current democratic government.

In the seven Chapter and 183-page book, the author explained how elected representatives from the first to the present Republic had allegedly used their political parties influence to impose their dominance to hunt perceived enemies.

According to the NUJ award recipient, “The energies dissipated in pursuit of revenge by willfully destroying perceived enemies of the state and presidency who may have invariably given a loophole by involving in corrupt or questionable activities . . . and had diverted the cause of reasoning of leaders.”

He also said lack of political parties ideology has held the level of progress and economic development of the Country in search of nationhood.

The book launch which coincides with the golden jubilee birthday celebrations of the philanthropist whose outreach in sports development had impacted many across religious and ethnic affinity.
