For former Nigerian Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), it is a time to mourn as he prepares to bury his first daughter Zulaiha, who died yesterday aged 40.
“Zulaiha Buhari will be put to rest this night according to Islamic right in Kaduna,” according to a tweet by Buhari’s close associate, Nasir el-Rufai, a former Minister of the FCT Abuja.
Born on December 5, 1972, Zulaiha studied at the Department of Economics Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She died yesterday at Nasarawa Hospital, a private clinic in Marafa, Kaduna, during child birth.
She was married to Captain Mahmud Junaid, a retired Army officer.
