The Alliance for New Nigeria, ANN, has commemorated the International Youth Day (IYD), saying that the party is the safest place for the youths of the country.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Akinloye Oyeniyi, said that “the globally acknowledged International Youth Day is here again and ANN’s recognition of youth’s inclusion as a significant key to a better Nigeria, has made this year’s theme, Safe Spaces For Youth, an actual picture of ANN as a political party”.
He added: “ANN, apart from acknowledging that the young people need political safe space, the party as a convergence of pressures and public demonstrations aimed at bringing to fore, a new and safe Nigeria, vividly demonstrated that in its just-concluded first national convention, making the youths occupy substantial and strategic positions of the National Working Committee.”
Assuring further on the mission of the party, Oyeniyi stated: “Being the only custodian of people's opinion and willpower, ANN shall also strive to continue to be the safest place, where youths will continue to speak and contribute to both subnational and national debates without fear of being silenced, as a new UN Youth Strategy ‘Youth 2030’ is being launched to step up the good work”.
