The European Coordinator of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP), Lazarus Tamana has condemned the Nigerian leadership of the movement led by Legborsi Pyagbara over its plans not to conduct elections and leave office as stipulated by the constitution of the movement.

The European Coordinator, Lazarus Tamana expressed disappointment in the moves by Pyagbara accusing him of collusion with Shell and the Nigerian government which has profoundly weakened the struggle of the Ogoni people in actualising the Ogoni demands as stated in the Ogoni Bill of Rights. The Ogoni people will reject outright any attempt to manipulate the MOSOP constitution to avoid seeking for fresh mandate from the people.

He demanded the immediate constitution of the electoral committee to give room for elections at the chapters, kingdoms, affiliates and national levels.
