Concerned APC youths blast defecting legislators, urge Buhari to not relent

The Concerned APC Youths (CAY) Group has come out in full support of President Muhammadu Buhari following the defection of some members from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the National Assembly.

In a statement signed and made exclusively available to News Express, the National Coordinator of the Concerned APC youths Aminu Lawal Othman condemned the action of the decamping legislators as selfish, arguing that the said politicians lack any positive ideals for good governance in Nigeria but are rather motivated by the personal ambitions.

CAY also accused the decampees of finding president Buhari’s anti-corruption drive too hot to handle, hence they are hopping out of the APC after failing in their efforts to sabotage the President’s resolve to steadfastly bring back sanity to governance in the country following years of what the group sews as serious maladministration by the previous governments of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)

The statement of the CAY in response to the recent developments in the National Assembly reads: “The Concerned APC Youths (CAY) has been watching the happenings in the National Assembly with regard to the defection of some senators from the APC with keen interest and concern.

“Nigeria’s democracy is at a trying time with politicians hopping shamelessly between parties for selfish gains, and not for any positive ideals for the betterment of Nigeria.

“The APC under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari remains committed to the ideals of a better Nigeria and it is this idea that has seen it to become an uncomfortable area for selfish politicians who have been working to undermine the positive ideals of good governance and zero tolerance for corruption that President Buhari stands for.

“Appropriating to themselves the mantra of godfathers and movers of mountains, these evil forces whose standing in the Nigerian society is based on their history of corrupt deviousness and evil tinkering with the political process of the country, like to think that they can sway Nigerians wherever they want with their misinformation from their covens.

“However, The CAY wishes to reiterate our support for President Buhari who has shown exceptional leadership in steering this country towards a better social, economic and political path despite the maladministration of the previous governments of the PDP.

“Buffeted by the evil machinations of those who see his anti-corruption drive and efforts towards improving the economy and security situation of the country as a threat to their personal ambitions, president Buhari has maintained a steady hand of leadership in driving the country forward and the CAY shares the confidence of the wider Nigerian society in believing that President Buhari and the APC can continue to steer the country towards the path of peace and sociopolitical and economic progress regardless of the evil machinations of opportunists who have adopted a ‘My way or the highway’ approach in dealing with the internal party matters.

“President Buhari is on a path of making Nigeria great and the CAY wish to join many Nigerians in urging him to not relent.”
