Senate Deputy Whip Francis Alimikhena
Deputy Whip of the Senate, Senator Francis Alimikhena, has congratulated the newly elected Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for putting up a dogged fight against the ruling party in the state.
Senator Alimikhena described the victory as “a triumph for our democracy and a clear display that power is from God,” adding that it “does not emanate from human efforts.”
The Edo North Senator in a statement made available to News Express applauded former Governor of Edo State and All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, “for his wisdom, political skills and experience in ensuring victory for APC.”
According to Senator Alimikhena, the Ekiti State election is a sample analysis of what Nigerians should expect in the forthcoming 2019 general polls. “Adams Oshiomhole has triumphed in his first national task few weeks after he emerged as the APC National Chairman. He will duplicate same success in the 2019 general elections,” Alimikhena said in the statement signed by his Personal Assistant Benjamin Atu.
He called on members of the Reformed APC to return home and join hands with the Oshiomhole leadership in redesigning the political fortunes of Nigeria.
“We cannot continue to build new structures on wrong foundations. The Buhari administration inherited a faulty political and economic foundation that was bastardised with impunity and corruption and it behoves on all of us to come together as Nigerians for the overall interest of our nation. Our national interest must reign supreme in all our endeavours,” the Senate Deputy Whip said.
