Second suicide bomber hits church in Kaduna army barracks

In what is clearly a case of the bizarre, a second suicide bomber is said to have successfully exploded a bomb at a church inside the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Kaduan, North-West Nigeria.

The news of the second attack was broken by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, at various times Minister of Culture and Tourism and of Aviation, who said he got the confirmation from an army officer friend of his at the scene of the incident.

According to Fani-Kayode on his Facebook wall: “A friend of mine who is an army officer sent this to me just after the blast. I have his permission to share this with you providing that I protect his identity. He wrote the following-

“ ‘I am in the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji on a middle cadre officer staff course. A twin suicide bomb blast just happened in our church (St Andrew Military Protestant Church). Mailing from the scene. The casualty figure is really high. Church just closed when it happened. So sad, the first bomber denoted his explosive inside the church and after the initial confusion was just settling and folks had started gathering to think of helping out, the second bomber exploded his car right in the midst of intending first aiders and the survivors of the first that were rushing out.”

As reported by News Express minutes ago, a suicide bomber had detonated a car bomb at the church, killing at least five people in an operation that is bound to embarrass the military authorities.
