Innovator declares for Enugu governorship

Ekene Uzodinma

An innovative youth, Mr Ekene Uzodinma, has declared his intention to contest for Enugu State Governorship seat come 2019 General Elections.

Uzodinma, who is the Managing Director of Ex-integrated Agro Allied Industries, made his intention known in Enugu during an Executive Chat with eminent people of the state on “The New Enugu Project (TNEP)’’.

The Executive Chat was themed: “The Future We Want to See’’. He noted that he was out to challenge the status quo and foster a roadmap of practical development through TNEP vision.

The aspirant, who says he is still consulting to know the political platform to drive his vision noted that the “TNEP vision is his focal drive to answer the call to serve Enugu people’’.

He said: “TNEP is also a multi-strategic system approach that is aimed at creating and charting a common course to a glorious future which isfair to all Ndi Enugu and Nigeria at large.

“It is, therefore, a group of Nigerian professionals and non-professionals alike who are tired of the prevalent status-quo, but like others who sit, watch and do nothing, the TNEP group of persons are out to take responsibility for today, which is the mother of the future yet to come rather than allowing their precious future to be decided by a few with little or no input from them’’.

Uzodinma, who is described himself as a 21-century farmer, lamented the low pace of infrastructure development in the state especially in the area of capital projects.

“Today, we have some abandoned landmark projects that should have been a source of job creation and source of revenue to the state government has been forgotten.

“The international civic centre and the Hotel Presidential are left unattended to, and these are projects that will bring job opportunities and wealth to both the citizens and the state government,’’ he said.

Uzodinma noted that his TNEP vision has five objectives, which included to spur an ideological change revolution where all citizens of Enugu and her residents would be responsive to governance and government by holding their leaders accountable.

“TNEP will create an interface and or platform where electorate and the elected or the electorate and the aspirant would sit down and develop a manifesto that is germane and reflects the true need of the people.

“It will create and develop a vision and strategic master-plan for the people and residents of Enugu State that defines who they are, what they are, where they going, and the key performance indices and milestones that must be on the path the future we all believe in.

“TNEP will organise professionals from all works of life who would seek and chart a veritable path to conceptualizing, designing and developing The New Enugu Project and the socio-economic indices thereof.

“Lastly, it will seek for needs and facilitate for ways and means of meeting or intervening in such needs in the state,’’ he noted.

He, however, urged the people of the state both in Diaspora and at home to key-in into the vision to ensure quick transformation of the state.
