400 PDP members defect to APC in Ekiti

About 400 members on the platform of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), from Irepodun/Ifelodun local government of Ekiti state, have defected from the PDP to the APC.

The defectors are from Eyio, Esure and Iropora area of the council and carried out the joint defection Eyio-Ekiti.

Mr. Ayodele Matthew led Esure-Ekiti members while Adeyeye Ajibola led new defectors from Iropora.

The immediate past Special Adviser on Political Matters and Governor Ayodele Fayose's political associate, Ademola Bello, urged new members to feel safe in APC, saying that the party accommodates new members without any discrimination.

He said the party's governorship candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi, is a man of honour who always wants to make a mark in the life of the people without conditions.

He urged new members to go back to their units to work and ensure the success of the party in the July 14 governorship poll.

Ayodele, Ajibola and Ogunsakin spoke in turns, declaring that they left PDP because Fayose had turned the party to a private property for personal pleasure.

They said their leader, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, was a man of honour in whom they have confidence and willing to follow politically, declaring that they had taken a stock in PDP and found out that they were mere slaves to Fayose.

They said that they constituted a threat to APC in the past, stressing that since they were now in APC, PDP should forget about getting votes in the three towns. (Daily Trust)
