Olusegun Mimiko
Former Ondo state governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has officially resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and may likely return to Labour Party tomorrow officially.
In a three-paragraph letter addressed to the party’s secretariat on Wednesday and made available to newsmen in the state, Mimiko said he took the decision based on some personal reasons.
The letter reads: “I hereby with utmost humility inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the PDP with effect from today, June 13, 2018, for some well thought out reasons.
“It was an honour working with the many prominent Nigerians with whom I shared the PDP platform for the entire period I was in there as a member’.
“Accept please the assurance of my very high regards.”
The former governor who joined the PDP from Labour Party shortly before the 2015 presidential election later rose to be the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum. He was said to have dumped the party following disagreement with some party leaders.
Mimiko, who was the governor ofOndo statebetween February 2009 and 2017, is believed to have concluded plan to return to Labour party tomorrow at his ward 7 in Ondo West local government area of the state. (Daily Trust)
