Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) councillorship aspirant for Oghara Ward 16 in the just concluded Delta State Local government election, Hon. Brain Ehvwarieme, has petitioned the party leadership to return his stolen mandate, just as he appealed to the party to wade into the situation urgently with a view to declaring him the authentic candidate.
The embattled aspirant who made the appeal in Oghara recently noted that he was duly cleared by the party’s delta central screening committee led by Chief A.P. Fovie after fulfilling all the necessary requirements but was shocked that a form was given to someone who did not even show interest within the stipulated time to contest the election. He alleged that a top politician in the area hijacked the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) form and gave it to a person who he alleged forged certificates to contest the election.
According to him, he swung into action by contacting his lawyer who petitioned Zone 5 police command and the said suspect was arrested but denied that he was contesting the said election, after lying on oath, an offence Mr. Ehvwarieme described as criminal.
Narrating his ordeal further, he stressed that a top politician from Oghara (name withheld) swapped position with another person who is a son to the first aspirant, Johnbull Obokowho after it was confirmed that he allegedly forged results; who according the embattled councillorship aspirant, forged a fake tax clearance receipt, an offence he was arrested for some time in April this year by a crack team from Asaba.
He hinted that police crack team led by Inspector Ode from police headquarters; Asaba arrested the said councilor who forged tax clearance receipt, warned that the party leadership should give him his mandate in order not to draw the name of the party to the mud.
He said he has instituted litigation against the first suspect, Mr. Johnbull Obokowho and his family ranging from defamation of character, perjury, conspiracy among others.
