Governor Amosun and Ex-Governor Osoba
Ahead of the 2019 general election, a seven-man delegation, made up of loyalists of former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, yesterday met with Governor Ibikunle Amosun, towards reuniting warring factions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The closed-door meeting, which lasted over an hour, at the Conference hall of the Governor's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, had in attendance, Senator Akin Odunsi, Senator Gbenga Kaka, Senator Gbenga Obadara, Hon. Adekunle Adeyemi, Hon. Bukola Braimoh, Hon. Abiodun Abudu-Balogun and Chief Yemi Sanusi.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, Amosun said that the meeting became necessary to chart the path of progress for the ruling party towards 2019.
He described party members at the meeting as stakeholders are true indigenes of the state, who have the interest of the state at heart and therefore can be welcomed back at any point in time to the party.
“We are one and the same and we are back as one, to deliberate on the progress of the party. Whatever happens, we must all come together as one and strive to develop Ogun State.
On his part, Odunsi said the group was happy with the outcome of the meeting, which he described as a wonderful family reunion, adding that there would be a bigger stakeholders meeting ontomorrow.
Describing Amosun has a good ambassador of the party, Obadara and Senator Kaka said: “We remain as a bunch and it can only be good.”
Adeyemi and Abudu-Balogun, who said Amosun and Osoba are their leaders, said APC in Ogun is one and united, without any crisis or faction, adding that the passion for progress in the state remains their drive.
