Peaches Geldof, the socialite daughter of musician and international philanthropist Bob Geldof has been found dead at her home in Wrotham, Kent, aged 25.
She left behind two young sons, namely, Astala Dylan Willow, who is about to turn two years old later this month, and 11-month-old Phaedra Bloom Forever.
She was married to Thomas Cohen, lead singer of the band S.C.U.M, after the collapse of her first marriage to Max Drummey, an American musician.
Her last posting on the social media site Twitter and Instagram was a picture of her as a young child and her mother Paula Yates, who would have celebrated her 54th birthday on April 24 had she not died in September 2000. Peaches simply wrote: “Me and my mum.”
Confirming the death of Peaches, Bob Geldof described her as a “beautiful child” who was the “wildest”, “funniest” and “cleverest” of his family.
He said: “Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child.
“How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.
“Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.”
Thomas Cohen said: “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever.”
According to Kent Police, “Police were called at 1.35pm on 7 April 2014 to an address near Wrotham following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman. A woman aged 25 was pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
“At this stage, the death is being treated as an unexplained sudden death. Officers are working to establish the circumstances around the death.”
Tributes are already pouring in for Peaches from friends, colleagues and peers on social media.
