The decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to seek a second term in office next year is not in the interest of the people of the defunct Eastern Region, the Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) has said.
BNYL, in a statement by its National leader, Princewill Obuka-Richard, expressed worry that “some politicians from South East and South South have refused to present the position of our people to him, that we are not concerned over his re-election.
“All we want is for him to recognise the region known as Biafra and respect the demands for her independence and we will extend a hand of friendship to his government.”
BNYL in the statement commended Igbo groups for the successful funeral activities of Biafra Army Commander Col. Joe Achuzia. The group charged the people of Delta State, particularly the Anioma, “to continue to press on for realisation of Biafra.”
