Osun governorship aspirant, Hon Tunde Kazeem Adewinmbi
Hon. Tunde Kazeem Adewinmbi, a gubernatorial aspirant and a former caretaker chairman of Ede North Local Government of Osun State, has demanded that the state’s governorship election scheduled to hold later this year must be free, fair, credible and transparent.
He made the demand while reacting to the recent local government polls in the state, which he described as “undemocratic, fraudulent and unconstitutional”.
Hon. Adewinmbi cited many areas where violence and election malpractices took place. He also accused Governor Rauf Aregbesola of appointing inexperienced, biased and incompetent individuals as members of the state electoral body.
Hon. Adewinmbi advised security agencies in the state to beam their searchlight on the political activities of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship election coming up on September 22, 2018.
According to him, “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all security agencies deployed for the election must remain neutral and unbiased, before, during and after the 2018 election in the state. We also insist that the forthcoming governorship election must be free, fair, credible and transparent. Anything short of these will not be acceptable to us.”
