Governor Obiano and Sir Victor Umeh
The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has said that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will sweep the polls during the January 13 Anambra Central senatorial re-run as it did during the just concluded governorship election.
He said the victory will further prove to the people of South East that APGA had come in the geopolitical zone as an unstoppable hurricane.
According to the governor, APGA is presently setting up a formidable political machinery that will lead the state and indeed, the entire Igbo race to the promised land.
Obiano who spoke at St Mary’s Catholic Church field, Nkpor, Idemili Local Government Area of the state during an APGA campaign rally for the Anambra Central senatorial rerun expressed appreciation to the people of the area for their unprecedented support during the November 18 governorship election in the state.
Obiano noted that their gesture was a testimony and endorsement that APGA was the hope for Igbo people.
His words: “It is important that the momentum be sustained as the Senatorial election presents another opportunity for the people to prove to the whole country that my massive governorship election victory was not a fluke.
“The APGA candidate in the election, Chief Victor Umeh, has the capacity to be a strong voice for the Igbo people at the Senate.”
He called on Anambra people to come out en masse and vote for APGA in the January 13 poll.
In his speech, the APGA senatorial candidate, Victor Umeh regretted that a lot had eluded the people of the zone as a result of lack of representation at the senate for more than two years.
He promised that if elected, he would pursue youth empowerment programmes as well as effective representation of the zone.
