New ministers get portfolios: Aliyu Gusau, Defence; Aminu Wali, Foreign Affairs; Danagogo, Sports; Boni Haruna, Youth Dev. . . .

The 11 new ministers appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan were today assigned portfolios. While seven of them were made substantive ministers, four were appointed ministers of state.

The new ministers with their portfolios are as follows:
•Gen. Aliyu Gusau – Minister of Defence
•Dr. Tamuno Danagogo – Minister of Sports
•Boni Haruna – Minister of Youth Development
•Alhaji Abduljelili Adesiyan – Minister of Police Affairs
•Ambassador Aminu Wali – Minister of Foreign Affairs
•Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi – Minister of Land and Housing
•Lawrencia Laraba Mallam – Minister of Environment

•Senator Musiliu Obanikoro – Minister of State Defence
•Mohammed Wakil – Minister of State Power
•Hajia Asabe Asmau Ahmed – Minister of State Agriculture
•Dr. Khaliru Alhassan – Minister of State Health
