Thirty-Eight top army officers dismissed from the Nigerian military more than a year ago are heading to court to challenge their removal.

They accused the Federal Government of violating their fundamental rights to fair hearing, and have headed to the community court of justice of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS.

The officers claim their dismissal was perpetrated by Defence Minister, Mansur Dan-Ali, and the defence and army chiefs, on behalf of the federal government.

Their careers were cut short in June 2016, over allegations of professional misconduct during the 2015 general election and alleged involvement in an arms procurement fraud. (TVC)
