The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for Monday, January 1, 2018:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze condition in visibility of about (1-3) km and localisedvisibility of less than 1,000m is expected over this region. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 28 – 34℃and 10 – 16℃respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Dust haze condition is expected over this region with horizontal visibility range of about (2 – 5) km and localised visibility of less than 1000m throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 36℃and 10 – 21℃respectively, except over Jos where 27℃/11℃day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: Sunny and hazy conditions are anticipated over the inland cities during the forecast period. However, mist/fog condition is anticipated in the morning hours over Port Harcourt, Eket, Calabar, Uyo, Asaba, Warri, Benin, Yenagoa and its environs with chances of partly cloudy skies over this region in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 35℃and 17 – 24℃respectively.
