Governor Dickson
Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson is set to give a unique Christmas gift to the people of Aleibiri, Ofoni, Ayamasa Angalabiri and other neighbouring communities along the historical Sagbama-Ekeremor Road.
Dickson will on Monday drive in a convoy of small cars to Aleibiri, Ofoni, Ayamasa Angalabiri and other neighboring communities along the historical Sagbama-Ekeremor Road.
The Governor, during his historical ride to Ofoni community in October, promised that he would drive in a convoy of small cars to Aleibiri in Ekeremor Local Government to celebrate Christmas with the members of the communities, as the first time in over 40 years thatcars would be driven to the Aleibiri.
Dickson had promised during the visit to the ecstatic communities in October that his administration would ensure that smaller cars are driven comfortably to Aleibiri in December.
According to a statement by his Adviser on Media Relations, Fidelis Soriwei, the over 100-kilometre road, awarded to construction giants Dantata-Sawoe and Setraco, is expected to be completed in December 2018.
The Governor had made a promise to the people of the area during his electoral campaign in 2012 that he would construct the Sagbama/Ekeremor Road, which was conceived over 40 years ago as a Federal project but was abandoned by successive administrations.
