The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) has finalised plans to arraign Maimuna Aliyu, mother of Maryam Sanda recently charged for allegedly killing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello.

The ICPC on Monday said it was due to arraign Maimuna Aliyu, former Executive Director of Aso Savings and Loans Limited as well as a dropped nominee for Board Member of ICPC.

A statement from the spokesperson of the Commission, Rasheedat Okoduwa stated, “the arraignment is set to take place on Tuesday 28th November 2017 before Justice M. A Nasir of High Court 16 Jabi, Abuja.”

The statement added that “Mrs Aliyu allegedly sold off three plots of land 2432; 2433; and 2434 in Cadastral Zone B08, Jahi District, Abuja, on behalf of Aso Savings and Loans Ltd at the cost of N57 million without remitting same to the bank.”

“She is also believed to have made false statement to officials of ICPC all contrary to Sections 19 and 25(1) (a) & (b) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000; and Section 311 of the Penal Code Act, Cap 532, Laws of Northern Nigeria 1990,” the ICPC said.

Maimuna's daughter, Maryam Sanda was last week remanded in Suleja Prisons for allegedly killing her husband, Bilyamin Bello, son of Alhaji Bello Halliru Muhammadu, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Maimuna would be arraigned at the same division of the FCT High Court in Jabi where her daughter, Maryam was docked last week, however before a different judge. (Daily Trust)
