Senator Sabi Abdullahi
Senate Chairman Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Sabi Abdullahi, has debunked rumor being peddled on the social media that he was attacked by his constituents on Friday, during a visit to his constituency, saying the information is ‘fake and a classical fat lie’.
The lawmaker, who represents Niger North Senatorial Constituency, spoke exclusively on the development to News Express on Saturday. According to him, “This is fake stories. No one attacked me. Indeed, that account is a classical big fat lie. I had a very fruitful and successful visitation to two local government areas of my senatorial district namely Kontagora and Magama. But Magama was the last area I visited with my hard-working team members.”
While saying he knows where the fake information is coming from, the lawmaker stressed that he would not join issues with any politician on the development.
According to him, “I will provide concrete evidence to this effect when I return. I am not joining issues with anybody. All I know is, the truth is constant and shall ever remain so.”
He however argued that those who claim he was attacked should provide evidence to back their claims.
The senator, according to the rumor, was said to have received serious insults, disgrace and stoning by the Executives of the party in Kontagora when he called for a Town Hall meeting in Kontagora, for the first time, since after his election in 2015.
