Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteoreological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for Sunday, November 5, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze will prevail in this region with visibility values of 2-5 kilometres. However, poor visibility of less than or equal to 1,000 metres is not unlikely over few places such as Katsina, Maiduguri and Nguru. Day and night time temperature values are expected to be in the range of 34 – 38℃and 16 – 21℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Sunny and hazy conditions are expected to affect some areas around this zone, while partly cloudy morning is expected over the southern half of the region with chances of localised thunderstorms in Lokoja, Makurdi and Jalingo axis during the evening hours. Day and night time temperature values are expected to be in the range of 33 – 37℃and 21 – 24℃respectively.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy to partly cloudy morning is anticipated, except for Eket, Calabar, Uyo and Ikom where isolated thunderstorms are expected in the morning hours. There are also prospects of localised thunderstorms over the high ground areas of the inland cities such as Akure, Osogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Enugu, Awka and Owerri, including the coastal cities during the afternoon/evening period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 34℃and 20 – 25℃respectively.
