Anambra UPP governorship candidate, Chief Osita Chidoka
The flag bearer of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in the November 18 governorship election in Anambra, Chief Osita Chidoka, has dismissed power of incumbency and federal might as the determining point of who will emerge as the next governor of the state.
Chidoka, who made the declaration at a press briefing in Awka, observed that the people’s quest for a government that best represented their voice and interest would play the ultimate role.
He claimed that there was already a consensus that he and the UPP represented the interest and voice of the Anambra people and the South East in general in their quest for self-affirmation.
His words: “It doesn’t matter whether you are an incumbent or not, or whether you have the so-called federal might. What will matter in this election is who the voters best feel an affinity for; who they think best represents them.
“There is a consensus that Osita Chidoka will best represent the voice of Ndi Anambra and the voice of Ndi Igbo in Nigeria.”
