No fewer than 4,000 households are benefiting from the North-East Food Security and Livelihood Emergency Support Project of the World Bank in Adamawa State.
The state Project Manager of Fadama 111 Programme that handles the project, Alhaji Mohammed Kabiru disclosed this on Thursday while speaking at a capacity building training for some beneficiaries of the project from the central zone of the state.
Kabiru said the training was for the beneficiaries who had been provided with improved seedlings, fertilisers, water pumps, herbicides, sheep and goats.
He said the training programme was to enhance their production capacity in yields and animal husbandry.
He said that the project would also embark on rehabilitation of structures in 400 communities in the state.
The project manager explained that the structures to be rehabilitated included markets, culverts and boreholes.
Digihome Global Limited is conducting the training. Its representative, Ahmed Murtala urged the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the programme to improve their lot.
Some of the beneficiaries, Mrs Dora Jonah and Abdulsalam Maigari, said the project had impacted positively on their lives.
“The five goats and sheep given to me under this programme are multiplying,” Maigari said. (NAN)
