LG Polls: You robbed us, Ugute quarter tells Ekezue, Otilije, Ogbugbulu

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State

Ahead of the forthcoming Local Government polls in Delta State, the people of Ugute quarter in ward 5, of Ukwuani Local Government Area have alleged being robbed of their chance to have the councillorship position, which was zoned to their quarter.

It was gathered that Chief Bernard Ekezue (BJK), Chief Otilije (Akwadila) and Chief Abel Ogugbulu had created confusion in Ward 5 as election draws closer.

Hon. Uti in a telephone conversation, explained that he directed the quarter to produce their candidate as it is their tenure but Ekezue, Ogbugbulu and Otilije did not support the idea of zoning.

Uti advised that the quarter should take the matter to Okpala-Uku palace so that it will be documented to avoid future occurrence.

The community of ward five has three quarters, Ugute, Ogbe-Iso and Ogbe-Asaba. Ogbe-Iso had been in the position for four tenures, Ogbe Asaba once while Ugute has never occupied the position.

The Okpala-Uku of ward Five hails from the aggrieved quarter. He had held several meetings over the councillorship position that was zoned to his quarter.

The Okpala-Uku has removed Chief Otilije as the Onoche Eze of his Palace. This may likely affect Chief Ekezue not to function again as the mouth piece (Ogbumi) to the palace.
