The Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has come up with a blueprint for the realisation of ‘new Biafra government’, which it said would never fail to live up to its obligations of providing good governance for the Igbo.

It mentioned some of those obligations as construction of new inter and intra-communal roads to link various communities, as well as provision of other essential infrastructure.

MASSOB’s Deputy National Director of Information, Mazi Chris Mocha, who gave the assurance yesterday, after the group’s emergency meeting at Omor in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State, said a Biafran government would remember all the communities neglected by Anambra State government of Nigeria, including Omor, Anaku, Igbakwu, Umueje, Omasi, Ifite Ogwari, Umumbo and Umolum.

According to Mocha, Biafra would deliver dividends of democracy irrespective of whether such people or communities supported the struggle for the independence of Biafra or not.

Mocha said that the outgoing Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, did well in so many areas, but excluded some communities in the areas of provision of essential services and structural developments, adding: “There is no good road leading to Umolum, no hospital, no electricity, no water, nothing.”

The pro-Biafran chief insisted that the Obi administration ought to have extended the on-going construction of Amansea, Ugbene, Ugbenu, Awba-Ofemili roads, in Awka North LGA, to link Ayamelum LGA headquarters, Anaku through Umolum community, from where Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University, Igbariam would have been linked to Achalla, Awka North Local Government headquarters.

He noted that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) government was selective in this direction, promising that Biafran government would not segregate any part of Ayamelum.

Mocha described as irrational, a reasoning by a retired army captain at a forum in Anaku yesterday, that MASSOB can achieve Biafra only when its leadership starts throwing bombs at police and army barracks, as being done by Boko Haram insurgents in the North and the militants in the Niger Delta.

He said Chief Ralph Uwazuruike (MASSOB leader) had chosen the best path of non-violence as the recognised means to achieving self-determination for Igbo.

He, therefore, urged the retired soldier, who is also a retired chartered accountant, to support the Uwazuruike struggle for the independence of Biafra and always speak out against injustice,
