Delta State Commissioner of Police Zanna Ibrahim parading recently arrested criminals
Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Zanna Ibrahim, has assured Deltans that his command has adopted intelligence measures to secure life and properties during the ‘ember’ months.
The CP gave the assurance on Monday while briefing the press in Asaba, the state capital. Mr. Ibrahim disclosed that the command has put several measures in place to curb the menace of criminal activities in the state. He pleaded with the public not to hesitate in giving out useful information that will help the police during the ‘ember’ months. He added that his men have been deployed for 24 hours surveillance around all financial institutions across the state to frustrate the activities of ATM thieves and other criminals who target banks.
The CP advised communities to clear overgrown trees along highways to prevent them from serving as criminal hideouts and to help motorists to have a clear view on the highways. He tasked every community to have a robust policing partnership with the security agencies and to ensure peace in their communities.
On the recent exploits by the command, the CP disclosed that efforts being made to check kidnapping, armed robbery and murder, among other criminal crimes in the state.
He paraded recently arrested criminals, among them members of the Nyale Mohammed kidnap gang in whose hands Mr. Emeka Chimaokwu, a retired banker who lived in Asaba, died, reportedly as a result of high blood pressure.
