The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has stated that all Police officers and men receive their salaries as at when due up to September 2017.

This follows a recent report which claimed that some Police officers were protesting non-payment of their salaries.

The OAGF explained that verification and biometric capturing of Police officers and men were carried out by IPPIS in 36 states and FCT between May 2016 and May 2017.

“Payment of the salaries in ( 8) eight commands at a pilot phase whose biometric data were captured between May 2016 and May 2017 by IPPIS commenced on IPPIS platform in August and September, 2017 for those officers whose data were duly captured after removing duplicated names and bank accounts. The eight commands include Abia, Nassarawa, Kebbi, Gombe, Kaduna, Ogun, Ekiti, and Bayelsa.

“It should be noted that statutory deductions were made as required by law as is on all other 461 MDAS on IPPIS platform. The statutory deductions include: pension, NHF, pay as you earn Tax, police welfare.

“No other deductions were made other than the compulsory and voluntary ones like cooperative and loan repayments done at the instance of the Police authorities.

“It should be noted that these voluntary deductions are yet to be remitted to the third party beneficiaries until final reconciliation with Police authorities that is on-going.”

The OAGF further explained that those who did not present themselves for biometric verification and capturing between May 2016 and May 2017 and claimed that they were for one reason or the other not available for the capturing have been formally directed to report to their Police Headquarters for comprehensive review of their cases so that Police headquarters can forward their names and details to IPPIS Police Help Desk dedicated to attend to them in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation.
