Anambra PDP governorship candidate Oseloka Obaze
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)for the November 18, 2017 election in Anambra State, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, on Saturday described as false the avalanche of state-sponsored television, radio documentaries/programmes, newspaper articles and social media posts alleging that he went to a shrine to take oath.
Obaze, who spoke in Awka said that the articles and programmes are only set out to malign his person and discredit him before the people, saying that such antics will fail.
According to the former UN Diplomat, he has been labelled a stooge and lackey and also attributed a statement he did make anywhere to him.
He said: “The latest attempt titled, ‘IPOB is a Security Risk’ — Obaze” marks a new low and is completely false. It is fake news.
“Coincidentally, I had, in a series of numbered tweets posted on my official Twitter account, @OselokaHObaze, on September 13, 2017, offered my thoughts on the Abia situation, saying, “Re Abia skirmishes and curfew, we sue for peace and nonviolence. Peaceful assembly remains an ordered Liberty.
“There’s need to avoid use of the military for civilian policing. That was, and still is my position on the issue. I couldn’t have turned around to say something totally different the next day as alleged.
“Secondly, I was in far away Abuja on the day in question, so I could not have been in Abuja and in my country home at the same time, as falsely reported.”
