Leading telecommunications operator, Airtel Nigeria, today finally drew the curtains on its Red Hot Promo with the presentation of the N10 million grand prize to the star winner, at an elaborate ceremony in Lafia, Nassarawa State.

Danjuma IbrahimYakubu, an FRCN National Assembly correspondent who emerged the ultimate winner in a draw on December 17 last year at the Corporate Headquarters of Airtel Nigeria in Lagos, was presented his N10 million cheque by the wife of the state governor, Hajia Salamatu Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

Speaking in his welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya, congratulated the star winner and 60 others who also emerged millionaires during the Red Hot Promo campaign. Ogunsanya, who was represented by the Regional Operations Director, North, Olufemi Oyewole, expressed satisfaction with the level of participation which made it possible for the company to reach the target number with the offer.

“Airtel by this feat has further provided these loyal customers irrespective of class and origin, with the financial muscle to improve their standard of living and secure a bright future for them, their family and loved ones,” stated Ogunsanya.

Speaking shortly after receiving his N10 million cheque from the state first lady who was supported by Airtel Regional Operations Director, a joyful Yakubu thanked Airtel for making his dream of financial independent come through.

The 40-year-old journalist said he will put the money into good use for the benefit of his family and loved ones by investing wisely.

In her remarks, Al-Makura commended Airtel’s people-oriented programs and projects saying that it further affirms the company as a socially responsible organisation.

She further stated that the occasion “provided a great opportunity for Nigerians to truly witness the commitment, concern and care of a true people-oriented stakeholder who has demonstrated its ability to add value, enrich lives and uplift the standard of living in the country, not only in terms of telecommunication services but also in the areas of rewarding subscribers for patronage and loyalty.”

The nationwide promo produced a daily winner of one million naira for 60 days and a grand prize winner of ten million naira.

Other prizes included high-end smart phones to 100 winners per week, free SMS and talk time to over 5,000 customers.
