Some lawyers and Civil Right Advocates in Rivers State have called for the suspension or voluntary resignation of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police Zaki Ahmed following the escape of a high profile suspected ritualist from police custody in Port Harcourt.

They are accusing the commissioner of police of complicity in the negligence of officers and men under him which led to the escape of the suspected ritualist.

In another development the United Labour Congress has given the Federal Government a 14-day-ultimatum to immediately inaugurate the National Minimum Wage Committee or face a total indefinite action in the country.

The labour union also urged the Federal Government to honour its 2009 agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities. (Silverbird TV)
