The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Tuesday, August 22, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Thunderstorms are expected over Maiduguri, Sokoto, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Dutse, Damaturu, Potiskum and Gusau in the morning hours. Later in the afternoon, most places in the region are likely to experience localised thunderstorms. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 33℃and 19 – 23℃respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Abuja, Jos, Bauchi, Lafia, Makurdi and Mambilla while cloudy conditions are anticipated over Ilorin, Minna and Bida in the morning. Localised thunderstorms are expected over this region in the afternoon. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 27 – 32℃and 16 – 23℃respectively, except over Jos where 25℃and 16℃day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: Rains are expected over Calabar, Port Harcourt and Yenagoa while Cloudiness is expected over the rest parts of this region in the morning. There are prospects of isolated rains over Shaki, Abeokuta, Ado Ekiti, Akure, Ibadan, Oshogbo, Owerri, Ogoja, Ikom, Awka, while rains anticipated over Warri, Uyo, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa and its environ during the afternoon hours. In the afternoon/evening hours, most parts of the cities have prospects of isolated rains. The day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 27 – 29℃and 20 – 24℃
