The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Thursday condemned the clash between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and security operatives in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of the state, which left one member of the group dead.

Speaking through a statement made available to journalists in Awka and signed by the MASSOB leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, the group described the alleged invasion of a peaceful and non-violence gathering of IPOB people as a primitive and uncivilised act in a modern era.

The statement read: “We regret that Nigeria security operatives were still operating in uncultured manner full of religious and tribal sentiment.

“This overzealousness of Nigeria Army and police against the non violence and armless Biafra agitators speaks high volume of rejection, subjection, marginalization and annihilation plan of Nigerian security agencies against the industrious people of Biafra.

“The wicked and violent activities of Fulani herdsmen and Arewa Boko Haram against the Christian middle Beltans and people of Biafra have not been challenged by Hausa Fulani dominated Nigeria security agencies. This hypocritical and bias of Nigeria security agencies are being monitored and recorded by the international organisations for human rights abuses for reckoning at the appropriate time.

“MASSOB insists that this high rate of intimidating tendencies of Nigeria government against the actualisation and restoration of Biafra will never deter or frustrate the God divinely inspired and backed Biafra agitators. We shall never relent or derail because our source of energy, inspiration, motivation and zealousness is from God.

“The forces behind and in support of Biafra actualisation and restoration are greater than Nigeria and her collaborators. Biafra ideology is rooted in the inner consciousness and conscience of the people of Biafra. Biafra as an entity is a spirit; her revolution is indestructible because God, humanity and history are on our side.”
