UPP Anambra guber aspirant Osita Chidoka
A frontline contender in theNovember 18, governorship election in Anambra State, Chief Osita Chidoka, has not been suspended by the United Progressive Party (UPP), his Campaign Organisation has said.
According to a statement issued by Viola Ifeyinwa Okolie, Director of Media at the Campaign Organisation, the information of Chidoka’s suspension being circulated in the media is “totally misleading and aimed at destabilising our great party ahead of our governorship election primaries scheduled forAugust 19, 2017.
For the avoidance of doubt and to set the record straight, Chidoka has not been suspended from the party and he is not facing any disciplinary issues whatsoever in the party.
“While we are aware of forces outside our party bent at causing confusion within our ranks, having realised our massive support from the people ahead of the elections, we state in very strong terms that they are fighting a lost battle as we are not in any way distracted in our mission to return Anambra to the people, comeNovember 18, 2017.”
The organisation urged supporters of the aspirant to disregard “the misleading report and continue working hard for the election.”
