A promotion galore is in the offing in the Nigeria Polcie Force, News Expressreports this morning.

A credible police source said on Tuesday night: “Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Sir Mike Okiro will tomorrow (Wednesday) forward the list of 6,000 promoted police officers to the IGP (Inspector General of Police), who will release the signal on Thursday.”

The source explained that the beneficiaries are officers who have stayed on one rank for years without promotion.

This is coming barely 24 hours after the PSC announced the suspension of special promotion for policemen until further notice following alleged corruption in the exercise.

Okiro, who disclosed this at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, said that the suspension became imperative, following complaints and allegations by members of the public.
