Adewale Ladenegan, the Managing Director, Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC) on Tuesday assumed office as Managing Director, Kaduna Refining and Petrochemicals Company.
He took over from Idi Mukhtar, who had proceeded on retirement.
Ladenegan, at a brief handing over ceremony in his new office in Kaduna, said his vision is to make Kaduna Refinery a money generating company for Nigeria.
“By the time we work on the petrochemicals plant and with the state at which I met the plant, when the FCC unit starts running, you will see that this place (KRPC) will be making a lot of money for Nigeria,” he said.
He said Warri refinery and Kaduna refinery have a long standing working relationship. “We are one, we have similar units with Warri refinery, except on the petrochemical side.
“WRPC is trying now, KRPC also tried before the incidents of pipe vandals and so on. We will work on that and make sure the plant comes back to life and continue to produce, the way Warri and Pot Harcourt refineries are producing.”
He commended the efforts of the management and staff of the Kaduna refinery and appealed for a more concerted team work to get the best out of everyone.
Ladenegan is a 1982 graduate of Chemical Engineering from University of Ife. He obtained his MSc also in Chemical Engineering, University of Lagos, in 1985.
He worked at West African Portland Cement Ewekoro, Ogun State between 1988-1991 and later joined the services of WRPC as Process Engineer in 1991.
He rose to the position of Executive Director Operations, EDO, in 2014 and was later appointed as substantive MD, WRPC in 2016, before his recent deployment to KRPC.
Earlier, in his handing over remarks, the former MD Idi Mukhtar, congratulated Mr. Ladenegan for his deployment to Kaduna refinery and appealed to the management and staff to extend a good working relationship he has enjoyed.
