The police are ready for any trouble makers
The General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu, has declared that all security operatives and emergency responders will be on alert to respond to any form of emergency or distress call during the conduct of the Local Government and Local Council Development Areas’ election today, Saturday, July 22, 2017.
Movement has been restricted from 7am-3pm as a result of the election, while the State Police Command has assured to deploy 30,000 police operatives for the exercise.
Tiamiyu advised Lagosians to be peaceful and calm while performing their civic responsibility during the exercise, urging them to comply with the rules and regulations before, during and after they must have cast their votes.
The General Manager further stated that the restriction of movement will not affect workers such as the LASEMA Response Unit, (LRU), Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) and Lagos State Fire Service amongst others because they provide essential services that may be needed by Lagosians.
While soliciting for the cooperation of Lagosians in ensuring the success of the LG/LCDA polls, Tiamiyu said the emergency toll-free numbers 767/112 are open for any emergency or assistance that may be required in any part of the state.
