The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Thursday, July 20, 2017:
NORTHERN REGION: In the morning, this region has prospects of isolated thunderstorms especially over Sokoto, Katsina, Nguru and Kano while in the afternoon, places like Maiduguri, Yobe and their environs have chances of isolated thunderstorms. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 32℃ and 20 – 22℃ respectively.
CENTRAL REGION: Cloudy morning is expected over this region with a few places such as Abuja, Minna, Bida and cities around the west of Niger state expecting isolated thunderstorms. Later in the day, Yola, Bauchi, Jos, Kaduna and Mambilla plateau have prospects of isolated thunderstorms. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 31℃ and 18 – 23℃ respectively, except over Jos where 24℃ and 17℃ day and night temperatures are expected.
SOUTH-EAST REGION: This region should expect cloudy morning with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Enugu, Abakaliki and environs. However, Owerri, Umuahia, Enugu, Awka, Abakaliki, Benin, Awka, Asaba and Warri have prospects of thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30oC and 22 – 24℃ respectively.
SOUTH WEST REGION: Cloudy morning is expected over this region with prospects of rains over Lagos, Ijebu-Ode and environs. But Abeokuta, Ibadan, Oshogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Iseyin and Akure have prospects of isolated thunderstorms later in the day. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 28 – 30oC and 21 – 23oC respectively.
