APGA National Chairman Martin Agbaso
The Nnewi High Court in Anambra State has granted an order restraining the leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) headed by Chief Martin Agbaso from holding the primaries of the party for the November 18, 2017 governorship election in the state.
The court presided over by Justice Chukwudi Okaa gave the order while ruling on Suit No. HN/149/2017 lodged by former APGA National Chairman, Dr Victor Ikechukwu Oye, and 21 others as plaintiffs/applicants. The defendants are Chief Okechukwu Nkoloagu, Comrade Jerry Obasi, Comrade Chuks Nwoga, Chief Martin Agbaso, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The court ordered as follows: “That the 1st-4th defendants by themselves, their agents, privies or otherwise are restrained from taking any steps towards organising, conducting or holding any Congress or primary election and or conducting or holding any such Congress, conference or primary election in the name of All Progressives Grand Alliance and for the purpose of selecting/nominating any Gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance for the forthcoming 2017 Anambra State Governorship Election pending the hearing and determination of the Substantive Motion on Notice.
