Breaking News: Fed High Court sacks Victor Umeh as APGA Chairman •It’s victory for Maxi Okwu

A Federal High Court sitting in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, this afternoon gave judgement in favour of litigant Maxi Okwu in the long-drawn leadership tussle between him and Victor Umeh for the National Chairmanship of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the ruling party in the South-East State of Anambra.

Chief Okwu, who was elected on April 8, 2013 during an APGA Congress held at the Women Development Centre in Awka, the Anambra State capital, insists that Sir Umeh’s tenure has expired.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is joined in the suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/563/2013 seeking Umeh’s removal and that of the secretary of his faction, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi.

Umeh has reportedly filed a Notice of Appeal and Stay of Execution of the judgement.
