The fate of embattled National Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has been sealed by State Chairmen of the party, who minutes ago rose from a crucial meeting in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, with a resolution that he must go.
“The meeting just ended at 3G Hotel in Utako, with 28 PDP State Chairmen in attendance while the rest sent their apologies. All in attendance unanimously voted that Tukur must go; there was no dissension,” a competent PDP source told News Express.
With this development, there appears to be no hope of survival for Tukur, who was yesterday abandoned to his fate by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC).
The controversial PDP Chairman under whose watch the party lost five state governors, who last November 26 defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is expected to either resign or be removed soonest.
