NIMASA DG, Dr Dakuku Peterside
The Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Dakuku Peterside, has congratulated Senator Magnus Abe on his victory at the Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
He has also congratulated Hons Chidi Wihioka and Azubuike Wanjoku who had earlier won their respective cases at the Election Petition Tribunal. He said the Judiciary had affirmed what Rivers people always knew, that their votes were rightfully given to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, he said Abe’s victory is for the people of South East Senatorial District and Rivers at large, while stating that the senator has once again deepened believe in the Judiciary.
According to him, “The people of Rivers South East will continue to stand by the votes they gave to Senator Magnus Abe to represent them at the National Assembly.
“I have always said that the APC will win any free and fair election in Rivers State. Our people are today seeing a directionless PDP-led Rivers state government foisted on us. APC will surely take over the state in 2019.”
Peterside tasked Senator Magnus Abe, as well as Hons Wihioka and Wanjoku not to be deterred in their quests to bring dividends of democracy to their respective senatorial district and constituents.
Speaking on the loss of Hons Maureen Tamuno and Sampson Egop at the Election Petition Tribunal, Dr Peterside urged them not to lose hope and expressed confidence that their cases would be given favourable disposition on Appeal. He praised the people of Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro for remaining resilient in the face of the challenges of electoral manipulation.
