The Niger Delta Enterprise Initiative has commended Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson for the appointment of Dan Alabrah, a seasoned journalist, media entrepreneur and intellectual, as Special Adviser on Public Affairs.

A former Editor with the Sun Newspapers, Dan Alabrah rose through the ranks until his eventual appointment as Head of Media and Communications at the Presidential Amnesty Programme in the Presidency by Dr. Kingsley Kuku, Special Adviser to President Jonathan on the Niger Delta and Chairman, Presidential Amnesty Programme in January 2011.

A statement issued on Monday by the Niger Delta Enterprise Initiative, signed by the Programme Coordinator George Kerley, pointed out that “Alabrah’s intellect, integrity, capacity and commitment were key drivers of the success of the Presidential Amnesty Programme as he made sure that critical information about the details of the programme were made readily available to all Nigerians.”

“We believe that Dan Alabrah will bring the same measures of commitment to his new duty post as Governor Dickson’s armor bearer,” the group said.
